1. Who we are
The website almadinahmakassar.sch.id is managed by Yayasan Pendidikan Al Madinah Islamiah Makassar, the foundation that runs Al Madinah Islamic School Makassar, Jl. Veteran Selatan No. 1, Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia ("we"). For personal data collected through this website, we act as the Personal Data Controller under Indonesia's Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (the PDP Law).
2. Scope
This policy covers every page of this website, including the English version under /en/, the Achievements, News and Careers pages. Student admissions are not currently carried out online through this website. Admission data is collected in person at the school and is covered by separate admission terms.
3. Data we collect
- Data you send through the Careers page: full name, email, WhatsApp number, city of residence, highest education, field of study, work experience, certifications, portfolio link, message, and your CV as a PDF.
- Messages you send us by WhatsApp, email or phone after tapping a button on the website. These conversations take place in those apps, not on this website.
- Visit statistics through Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, traffic source (for example Google or Instagram), and clicks on certain buttons such as Chat with Admin, the level checker and the language switch. Google Analytics uses cookies and device identifiers. We do not enable Google Signals or ad personalisation.
- Technical server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and access time, to keep the website secure.
- Choices stored in your browser: the website remembers the last school level you viewed in your browser's local storage so the homepage can highlight it. This is not sent to us.
- Admin panel accounts, for teachers and staff who write news posts or manage achievements and careers.
4. Children's data
This website does not ask for children's personal data. The level checker works out a school level from the month and year of birth directly in your browser, without storing or sending the date of birth. Our statistics record only the resulting level, anonymously. Photos and names of students on the Achievements and News pages and in testimonials are published with their parents' knowledge. Parents who would like their child's photo or name removed can contact us using the details below.
5. Purposes and legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (PDP Law) |
|---|---|
| Processing job applications and contacting candidates | Your consent when you submit the form |
| Answering questions and requests for information | Your own request when you contact us |
| Understanding how the website is used, to improve our information and services | Legitimate interest, using statistics without ad personalisation |
| Keeping the website and admin panel secure | Legitimate interest |
6. Other parties involved
We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be processed by service providers that help us:
- Google (Google Analytics for statistics, Gmail for the school's and HR team's inboxes).
- Our hosting provider, where the website and application data are stored.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp. Those conversations are subject to WhatsApp's privacy policy.
Some of these services may process data outside Indonesia. We only use providers that apply adequate data protection standards.
7. How long we keep data
- Job applications: the copy in the admin panel is deleted automatically after 12 months. Application emails in the HR team's inbox are kept only as long as needed for recruitment, for up to 12 months, unless the applicant later joins Al Madinah.
- Visit statistics: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Technical server logs: according to our hosting provider's terms.
8. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Application data and CVs are stored in a folder that cannot be opened from the internet and can be accessed only by administrators through the admin panel. Account passwords are stored encrypted. In the event of a personal data protection failure, we will notify those affected and the relevant authority as required by the PDP Law.
9. Your rights
Under the PDP Law, you have the right to:
- obtain information about how your personal data is processed;
- access and obtain a copy of your personal data;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request deletion of your data and withdraw your consent;
- object to certain processing.
Please send requests to almadinah.mks@gmail.com. For job application data, write to sdm.almadinah.mks@gmail.com. We will respond within the time limits set by the PDP Law. You can also refuse statistics cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
10. Links to other websites
This website links to other services such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Google Maps and the Cambridge International directory. Their own privacy policies apply when you open them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if the website introduces online admissions. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
